Mail Call

Korean War female veteran reading a letter from her family on an airplane.

Mail Call is a special surprise for all our veterans who fly on an Idaho Honor Flight mission! Mail Call is made up of cards and letters from family, friends, and neighbors expressing their appreciation and thanks to our veterans and its nostalgic throwback to when the veteran was deployed many decades ago.

For each vet traveling on an Idaho Honor Flight mission, we will reach out to one of the veterans family members to help us coordinate this meaningful project. The family member will be asked to assist in gathering mail from family, friends, veteran service organizations they are a member of, civic groups, neighbors, church friends, or anyone else who wants to partake by sending a card, letter or picture for their veteran. Mail should be sent in one large envelope containing all of the mail to the address listed below.

Mail Call is due two weeks prior to the mission. Please include no other items other than flat cards or letters. Other items will not be included in the veteran’s Mail Call and will need to be picked up post flight.

Please send all Mail Call mail in ONE LARGE ENVELOPE to:
Idaho Honor Flight
C/O “Veteran’s Full Name” (Not Dad, Mom, or Grandpa)
235 S 4th Ave, Suite 509
Pocatello, Idaho 83201

Don’t have a veteran on the flight, but still want to participate in Mail Call?

Write letters, make cards, or submit artwork to our honored male and female veterans from al branches of the service. We get a lot of ‘generic’ mail so take the time to write and create something meaningful. We believe quality over quantity is best. Please do not seal or date the mail. Send it in at least two weeks prior to our flight(s) and please limit to 50 pieces to give everyone a chance to participate.

If you have children in school, have them start a class project to write letters, draw pictures, or collect donations. Remind our children that freedom isn’t free and these are the heroes who gave up their freedom so we may enjoy ours.
